GAFILAT presents the report “High-Risk Sectors for the Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction: A Regional Risk Assessment and Reference Guide for GAFILAT Countries”, produced with the support of the US INL Programme. This document is the first of its kind in the region and aims to serve as a reference manual to raise awareness amongst the public and private sectors, guide public policy decisions and strengthen the region’s defences against the risks posed by proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their financiers. It contains a multi-sectoral analysis identifying the sectors most at risk from PF proliferation, levels of global and regional exposure, a wide range of warning signs by sector, an assessment of gaps, and recommendations for tackling this high-impact phenomenon.
